Signs of the Times have been commissioned to make commemorative plaques for councils, architects, societies and individuals for 20 years.
We have made winners' plaques for national competitions such as Britain in Bloom, and these are repeated annually using a different flower design each year.
Plaques cast in bronze are traditionally used on War Memorials, however in this modern age polyurethane is often substituted; it is equally hard wearing and attractive in appearance. Signs of the Times manufacture plaques cast in bronze, polymer, and aluminium, and engraved stainless steel, brass or bronze.
The plaque made for Biggleswade Town Council illustrated above is a two part manufacture. The outer ring is cast with the Coat of Arms in relief and engraved text. The inner circle is engraved aluminium; this method allows for large amounts of text to be displayed.
We also specialise in Coats of Arms signs, which have their own page on the website
